CEBU, Philippines - The Department of Social Welfare and Development-7 welcomes 43,329 new household beneficiaries for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program this year.

DSWD-7 information officer Aileen Lariba said this is the seventh batch of beneficiaries covered in the program since it started in 2008. They are already part of the more than 889,000 new beneficiaries of the program nationwide.

She added that of the 43,000 households, the first batch of 1,731 household beneficiaries will begin registration this month.

Bohol has 177 of those household from 43 municipalities, Cebu with 708 from 50 LGUs, Negros Oriental with 723 from 18 LGUs and Siquijor with 123 from four LGUs.

DSWD personnel will conduct the orientation and registration of new 4Ps members. Documents such as birth certificates of children of both parents and children, baptismal and marriage certificates if available and 2x2 pictures are needed for registration, Lariba said.

However, before these households are officially declared a member, they are to understand and sign the Oath of Commitment that they would follow the set conditions of the program which include pre-natal and post-natal delivery of a trained health professional, preventive health check-up once a month, enrolment and 85 percent attendance in school and attendance to family development sessions once a month.

Failure to commit to these conditions would mean non-registration, she added. BRP (FREEMAN)
