CEBU, Philippines - The hiring process for the provincial government’s outsourced employees is up for further review.
Governor Hilario Davide III asked Provincial Administrator Mark Tolentino to further review the process and said he mentioned this to one of the companies providing outsourced personnel for Capitol offices including janitors, utility, maintenance staff and clerks.
Davide said that when Best Source Professional paid him a courtesy visit last week, he informed them of the ongoing review on the hiring process for casual employees in the Capitol.
The contract for Best Source Professional and its joint company, LBP Service Corporation, was extended for another year after the Provincial Board approved the extension of their contract last March.
The two companies won the P60 million-contract which was extended until February 2014.
Davide said renewal of contracts would depend on the review of the hiring process for outsourced personnel.
Davide earlier said they are looking into the hiring process for district hospitals in the province and is considering the idea of getting more regular employees rather than casuals. He said this may also be adapted for the Provincial Capitol.
Meanwhile, Davide also asked the Provincial Administrator to review the contract of Best Source amid claims that they still have a collectible of around P21 million from the provincial government for the year 2012.
Davide said this is on top of another P18 million that said needs to be collected for this year. MIT (FREEMAN)
