CEBU, Philippines - The Mariquita Salimbangon-Yeung Charitable Foundation Inc. announced that the Operation Smile-Cebu Philippines mission checkup of over a hundred patients has been postponed.
Monette Alino, executive director of the mission, said yesterday that the follow-up checkup was supposed to take place on June 28 and 29.
But Alino said that majority of the patients coming from the different parts of the country cannot be contacted yet, prompting them to postpone the event. She said they will just make the proper announcement once it will push through.
The Operation Smile-Cebu Philippines has been sponsoring free surgeries for children who have cleft palates and other facial deformities.
Through the MSYCFI, it was able to operate on over 4,000 children with such deformities for more than ten years already. — (FREEMAN)
