Tomas not running for brgy chief

Rene U. Borromeo - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - Outgoing Cebu City South District Rep. Tomas R. Osmeña denied reports that he will be running for barangay captain of Barangay Guadalupe in the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections in October.

“No, but I will be very active in Guadalupe this barangay election,” Osmeña, who is in Singapore, said in a text message.

Osmeña’s term as congressman will expire on June 30. He lost in his bid to replace incumbent Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

Osmeña also denied reports that he has a misunderstanding with Guadalupe Barangay Captain Michael Gacasan after the May 13 Automated Local and National Elections.

He said Gacasan is with him in Singapore.

After the elections last month, Osmeña had said that he might be appointed as the administrator of his mother’s estate in Negros Occidental and he said he will be happy to take care of their properties there. (FREEMAN)
