CEBU, Philippines - The Visayan Electric Company (VECO) assures that they are to respond to emergency situation today.
They have emergency crew on standby in their designated areas according to VECO spokesperson Theresa Gonzales after an emergency power interruption happened at around 4 p.m. yesterday in Banawa, Barangay Guadalupe.
Gonzales said it only lasted for 10 to 15 minutes since their emergency crew on standby were there to immediately address the situation.
She added that it was not a scheduled power interruption as they have not scheduled any starting yesterday until tomorrow.
“It only took a few minutes kay na-restore ra man dayon ang power and from the report sa among office, there was a power tripping that had happened, they are still to find out what’s the cause,†Gonzales said.
She clarified that they could not guarantee that emergency situation will not happened but Gonzales said that they already assigned emergency crew to fix things right away.
“We cannot guarantee that it (emergency power interruptions) will not happen. I cannot say gyud nga wala, but our emergency crews are on standby if anything happens,†Gonzales said.
Last week, it was reported that a dove was electrocuted in a power line that caused power outage for at least two hours VECO’s crew had to remove the dove first in order to restore power. (FREEMAN)
