RDC selecting new private sector reps

CEBU, Philippines - The Central Visayas Regional Development Council-7 has started the process of selecting the new set of Private Sector Representatives for the term 2013-2016.

It also announced that the pre-qualification of nominating Private Sector Organizations (PSOs) is now open.

PSOs can be business organizations, non-government organizations, associations, religious organizations, cultural associations, professional associations (including media associations), civic clubs and cooperatives.

Qualified PSOs will be eligible to nominate and vote for the new set of PSRs who will represent the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor in the RDC.

PSOs that have participated in previous RDC-7 PSR selection exercises and are still interested to join in the current selection process are still required to accomplish and submit the PSO General Information Form to the RDC-7 secretariat.

The PSO General Information Form can be downloaded from the RDC-7 website at www.rdc7.net.ph/downloads and from the RDC7 Facebook account at http:www.facebook.com/rdcseven.secretariat or obtained from the RDC 7 Secretariat, NEDA Regional Office 7, Sudlon, Lahug, Cebu City.

Also downloadable from the RDC-7 website are the PSR selection guidelines approved by the RDC Executive Committee last Apr. 4, 2013 and a primer about the selection process.

The deadline for the submission of the PSO form to the RDC-7 Secretariat is on May 31, 2013 while the conduct of separate provincial PSR selections are scheduled from August 19 to 30, 2013.

The newly selected RDC-7 PSRs will be confirmed during the third quarterly meeting of the RDC for this year.

One of the PSRs will be elected RDC co-chairperson while others will be holding the chairmanship of the standing committees. —/BRP (FREEMAN)
