Soco takes bus to campaign

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - For the third leg of his caravan, independent vice gubernatorial candidate Glenn Anthony Soco took a public utility bus from Mandaue City to Danao City early morning of Saturday.

Through this experience, Soco saw the need to have more regulations on public buses to ensure safety and passenger comfort.

Soco said that cleanliness, safety and customer service should be given utmost importance with public transports.

“Should I be given a chance to sit as vice governor, I will push for initiatives that senior citizens and persons with disabilities be given free ride on public buses,” Soco said.

After having breakfast at Danao Fish Port, the Glenn Soco TA! caravan proceeded to Tabuelan town passing Lugo, Sogod road.

Soco held handshaking in public markets up to Toledo City where he stayed overnight before proceeding to the towns of Pinamungajan and Aloguinsan yesterday.

Soco, who is running alone under the Pwersa ng Masang Pilipino (PMP), has been going around up to the remotest barangays in the Province of Cebu in his quest to be the second public official of the Province of Cebu.

He failed in his first attempt in 2010 when he was the runningmate of now suspended Governor Gwendolyn Garcia under One Cebu Party.

His opponents in the May 2013 elections are acting Gov. Agnes Magpale of the Liberal Party and former Danao City vice mayor Ramon “Boboy” Durano IV of One Cebu Party.

Soco, 38, is the youngest among them and is certified physically fit after undergoing a medical check-up and drug test last week.

Durano has not gone around in the past few weeks after he experienced severe dehydration while Magpale, 71, also has yet to present medical record in public.

Magpale is the aunt of Durano who are both from Danao City while Soco is from Mandaue City. — (FREEMAN)
