CEBU, Philippines - An elderly woman was found floating dead in the seawaters off Barangay Tuyom, Carcar City last Friday morning.
The fatality, identified as Joy Baring Alleson, was found with a wound in her wrist, prompting police to believe that the victim apparently committed suicide by slashing her wrist.
In a report from the Carcar City Police, the body was found by residents floating some few meters from the shore in sitio Bantayan at past 9 a.m. yesterday.
Daphnie Babao, Tuyom barangay captain, called up the police and informed about the body. Police arrived and fetched the body and brought it to the shore.
The victim was still rushed to the Carcar City District Hospital where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival.
The wound was found on Alleson’s left wrist was believed to have actually caused her death.
Alleson, of legal age and resident of Barangay Poblacion Uno, was believed to have committed suicide because of depression after her husband and children allegedly left her with another woman. (FREEMAN)
