Man nabbed for trying to bribe policemen
CEBU, Philippines - Police arrested a video carrera machine operator after he allegedly tried to bribe policemen for the release of the seized machines and the four men they arrested in Barangay Sambag Dos last Wednesday.
Operatives of the City Intelligence Branch arrested Glenn Lastimoso King, 42, of barangay Vito, Minglanilla after he gave P6,000 cash to the police during an entrapment operation at Fortich St., Barangay Guadalupe.
SPO2 Jeffrey Diola, one of the CIB operatives, said King was trying to settle the matter with the police and for the release of Russam Basubas, Jimbo Tapayan, Jimbert Lapuz, and James Labajo, who were reportedly caught in the act of gambling in B. Rodriguez St., Barangay Sambag Dos, at 5 pm.
“Aregluhon na lang daw namo unya mubayad siya og P6,000 namo. (He wanted to settle it and he will just pay us P6,000),†Diola said.
He said Tapayan reportedly called up King to inform him of their arrest.
Diola said that when they met King, the latter handed over the money, which eventually led to his arrest. The operation was led by Insp. Willian Alicaba.
Meanwhile, elements of the Regional Special Operation Group (RSOG) raided a warehouse of video carrera and moli-moli machines in barangay Hipodromo last Wednesday afternoon.
The alleged financier, Wendell Legaspina alias Wendell Go, was not around during the raid, which was led by RSOG chief, Chief Inspector George Ylanan.
Ylanan’s team was armed with the search warrant issued by Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 58 Judge Lynna Adviento.
The police seized several parts of video carrera and moli-moli machines.
Wendell Go’s carrera machines are marked with the word “Dragonâ€, a trademark that these belong to him, police said. (FREEMAN)
