Aurora province CWL backs Gwen Garcia

CEBU, Philippines - Fourteen members of the Catholic Women’s League of Baler Aurora Province showed moral support and encouragement to suspended Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia during their visit yesterday at the Capitol.

“Actually, we have read the news all over the newspaper on what happened to her (Gwen Garcia) so we decided to come here to tell her not to give up, but to do something which will be for the good of all Cebuanos,” retired Baler Regional Trial Court (RTC) Judge and CWL member Corazon Soluren said.

Soluren said that they wanted to show their support to the suspended governor since Garcia has been a very good Catholic and devotee to Señor Sto. Niño.

“We are Catholics so then we must support Garcia as Catholic too,” Soluren said.

The CWL members observed that Garcia, despite the tension at the Capitol, danced with passion because of her strong devotion to Sr. Sto. Niño and it was “very inspiring” to them.

President of Catholic Women’s League Baler Chapter Leticia Guerrero said that Garcia should never forget that God loves her for continuing and striving to fight for the province of Cebu.

According to Guerrero, Garcia is an honest Catholic.

“We believe that Garcia did not do anything wrong as far as we know and we believe that she has been telling the truth since then,” Guerrero said.

The CWL members arrived on January 19 to attend the grand Sinulog and went home last night. — (FREEMAN)
