Security guard shot dead in Brgy Bulacao

CEBU, Philippines - A security guard was shot dead by three motorcycle-riding men at the bridge in Barangay Bulacao late Monday night.

Renerio Ylanan, 42, resident of Talisay City and is employed with Standout Security Agency, succumbed to gunshot wounds on his nape and neck.

Homicide investigation shows that the victim was driving his motorcycle at past 11 from his dormitory bringing his laundry when the unidentified motorcycle-riding men shot him.

The back-riders reportedly shot the victim three times.

SPO4 Alex Dacua of the Homicide Section eyes personal grudge as possible motive behind the attack.

The victim’s wife told police that her husband did not have any other enemy except for a fellow security guard that he allegedly had an argument recently.

“Dako jud mi pagtuo sa among angulo nga personal grudge. Kining asawa duna siya’y gisulti nga previous grudge ba bahin sa iyang (victim) trabaho. Amo na gitan-aw og maayo karon. (We believe that the motive is personal because the wife told us that the victim had a previous grudge regarding his work),” Dacua said.

Dacua said they will be calling the security guard whom the victim had an argument with for investigation.

The police refused to divulge the name of the guard yet but he was reportedly willing to cooperate. —(FREEMAN)
