CEBU, Philippines - Two men died in separate stabbing and shooting incidents over the weekend in Metro Cebu.
At 6 a.m. yesterday, a jeepney conductor who was only identified as identified as a certain Dodong or Pangag, was found dead with stab wound in the right side of his chest.
Dodong, a native of Leyte, was found by the police lying on his back inside a public utility jeepney.
A bloodied 28-inch knife was found beside his body.
The police are considering one Eddie Goc-ong, a jeepney driver, as one of the possible suspects.
Goc-ong is reportedly the driver of the PUJ, plying the Talamban-Pit-os route, and Dodong was his conductor.
According to one Orvel Bayun, 24, a friend of the victim, he saw and heard the victim and Goc-ong had a heated argument last Saturday noon over their P500 proceeds.
Dodong’s body was subjected to an autopsy.
In Danao City, one Mamerto Laurel was shot dead by two men on a motorcycle along Barangay Poblacion late Saturday night.
Laurel, 43, died of multiple gunshot wounds in his body.
Investigation showed that Laurel was driving a motorcycle on his way home when two men riding in tandem on a motorcycle drove near and shot him repeatedly.
The victim fell to the ground with his motorcycle while the assailants fled.
The victim was rushed to the Danao District Hospital but he did not make it alive.
Police are considering personal grudge as motive behind the attack.
The victim allegedly had a number of enemies in his place and had survived two attempts on his life in the past. (FREEMAN)
