New PET-CT Facility
CEBU, Philippines — The Cebu Doctors Group (CebuDocGroup) had the blessing and inauguration of a new medical diagnostics facility on December 2. Located at the basement level of the Cebu Doctors University Hospital (CDUH), the facility houses a state-of-the-art Positron Emission Tomography and Computed Tomography (PET-CT) scanner, which is a type of medical scanner that’s mainly utilized by oncologists to help in the prevention, early detection, diagnosis and treatment of cancer.
More than a for-cancer-only diagnostics machine, a PET-CT scanner also helps healthcare professionals better address a wide spectrum of medical conditions ranging from heart disease, brain disorders, conditions affecting the nervous system and more.
It holds an advantage over conventional medical scanners as it can process anatomic and physiologic imaging procedures which, ultimately, lead to safer and more accurate disease/condition assessments.
The facility’s inauguration is part of the CebuDocGroup’s continuing advance to offer the best of healthcare services in the Visayas and Mindanao regions. (YRST)
