Cebu Province’s 450th Founding Anniversary

Once again, the Province of Cebu celebrated its 450th Founding Anniversary last August 6, 2019. Invited to be Governor Gwen Garcia`s and the province`s guest of honor during this memorable event was Mayor Sara Duterte Carpio of Davao City. Part of the program was the planting of a narra seedling on the Capitol grounds by both lady officials. After which, Mayor Sara, Gov. Gwen and Vice Gov. Hilario Davide III opened the “Tabo Sa Kapitolyo” Agri-Fisheries Fair right within the Capitol premises.

Also seen during the anniversary affair were Provincial Board members, police and military officials, officials and representatives from towns and component cities, members of the consular corps, businessmen and friends of the governor, especially Dame Mariquita Salimbangon Yeung who came with her group, all supporters of the governor.

The anniversary celebration then continued at the Capitol Social Hall, and exchanging of pleasantries and sips of the best wine lasted until three in the afternoon.
