“Fujian: Flavors of Southern China”

A special buffet called “Fujian: Flavors of Southern China” has been rolled out at Golden Prince Hotel and Suites. The food festival is a collaboration between Golden Prince’s Le’Mon Restaurant and Xiamen’s Lin Jia Restaurant, in celebration of the Cebu-Xiamen Friendship Day – an annual event held on October 26, starting back in 2015, initiated by Philippine General Consul Julius Caesar A. Flores.

“Many Filipino Chinese living in Cebu have a long history with Southern China, Xiamen in particular,” says Golden Prince President, Benny Que. “A lot of our ancestors, about two to three generations ago, have migrated and settled in the Philippines. It is truly an honor for us accepting this invitation to work together from Consul General Flores, who stresses the importance of tracing one’s roots. Xiamen is a sub-provincial City located in Fujian, South China.”

Golden Prince has invited guest chefs Zhang Guoxiong and XuFenqian from Lin Jia Restaurant to cook up authentic dishes from the region. “It is an opportunity for cultural exchange. Our hotel chefs will learn about well-known Fujian recipes and techniques. Some of the Fujian dishes featured in the buffet will be part of Le’Mon Restaurant’s Chinese menu cycle,” adds VP for corporate communication Aaron Que.
