Make Your Own Mojito

Bruce Schreiner, Claire Galofaro - The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines -  Ever thought of being your own bartender? Give yourself a try! Starting June, Cebu City Marriott Hotel is launching the Mojito Madness with a Do-It-Yourself Fruity Mojito station available at the Great Room, the hotel’s in-house bar and lounge.

You can now either have the bartender prepare Marriott’s standard classic mojito or challenge yourself to concoct a blend that fits your taste. Try to learn a new trick or two. The hotel’s bartenders are open to share with you some techniques and quick tips you may consider when creating your own drink.

If you’re up for it, grab a glass and muddle in your mix of fresh fruits. Choose from a wide selection of sliced kiwis, oranges, mangoes, pineapples, soursop (guyabano) and dragon fruit. You may even add in freshly squeezed fruit juice and adjust your desired dose of Bacardi rum to complete your novelty fix. Then, when done, you may garnish it with your fruit of choice or with freshly picked basil or mint leaves.

Cebu Marriott is also launching the #DIYFruityMojito challenge. Simply post a picture of yourself enjoying your own mix and you might get declared as one of the monthly winners to bring home a dining gift certificate good for two persons. Just add in the official hashtag plus #CebuMarriott and tag @CebuMarriott in a any of our social media accounts: Facebook, Instagram or Twitter.

The unique mojito experience is available every day from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., at a per-glass price. Inquiries and reservations may be phone in at (032) 412-5800 or emailed to [email protected]. (FREEMAN)
