Lucky Tattoo Feng Shui

NO NONSENSE FENG SHUI - Feng Shui Master Aldric Dalumpines - The Freeman

Tattoos are popular as feng shui nowadays. Now, is there such a thing as having a lucky tattoo? Yes, there is.

Let me predicate this topic with true-to-life stories starting with my own experience about having a lucky tattoo.

One of my earliest Boracay feng shui engagements was with a priest who was to have his church in the mountains of Banga, Kalibo, Aklan, and eventually in Boracay, where I had feng shuied Mayor Yap's Casa Pilar around 18 years ago. The Chinese taipan donor required that the lot and church plans be checked for good fortune of the donation, and decided to include his satellite parish and political friend in Bora!

It was on a Maundy Thursday when I got to the island resort paradise and finished by 5 p.m. To my surprise, the shuttle bancas going back to Caticlan had their last trip at 4 p.m.; therefore, I had to stay for the rest of the Holy Weekend till Easter Sunday at Casa Pilar.

On that Good Friday, there was no activity in Bora, everything was quiet... except in the "talipapa" or local market where I chanced upon a group of people ogling into a tattoo shop. Inside, a pretty Australian woman was having her breasts - yes, breasts! - tattooed. Getting curious myself, I wormed my way to the very front, only for the tattoo artist to call out who was next right in my face! All the people stared at me, and I shyly said, "Me!" I got a yin-yang tattoo, with Chinese calligraphy of two characters that meant "Man of Excellent Luck!"

At that time I only had three daughters, no son. When I got back to Manila, my daughters egged me that they do not want any Christmas gift that year and only wished for the experience of having a baby brother!

So my wife and I agreed, and I feng shuied our home to beget a son. On December 25 that year, my youngest son was born - a fitting Christmas gift for his sisters! So, there, my tattoo brought me excellent luck in family life and thereafter countless blessings and material wealth. I even acquired a beach resort for my kids in our hometown as a legacy.

Another case was my client local model who had a lion tattoo at the back of her waist. It was an unlucky tattoo symbol for anybody, much like tigers are, too! She had it re-done into an arowana fish per my advice, after which he got happily married in no time and happily bore a son. Now she is an international model in the States!

Another case was a fellow Jaycee in San Pablo City, Laguna who for luck in feng shui had an arowana tattoo too. He won as councilor and later became vice mayor.

But there are others who had very unlucky tattoos too, like Dog persons having dragon tattoos which is super bad feng shui for them in the Chinese zodiac! Whereupon erasing such or modifying it into favorable images like koi, arowana, or fu dogs, their lives changed for the better.

And the luckiest tattoo of all for job seekers and career professionals. No less than a journalist back then covering one of my Chinese New Year talks for the Rotary Club of Cebu Fuente has since followed my tips annually. Upon learning that turtle is a supreme icon for feng shui career success, she decided to have a turtle tattoo. She had successive job promotions and added turtle tattoos on her legs carried her to much deserved success in career!

In this regard, congratulations to Freeman editor-in-chief Quennie Sanchez-Bronce for being a curious feng shui and tattoo aficionado with many happy returns! May others be open-minded like her to try new vistas of life and growth even to the point of trying a lucky tattoo.

Wishing you all the luck and happiness as well as good health in any lucky tattoo you decide to inspire your souls! Think well and ink well brethrens! Just avoid lions or tiger tattoos and images of Chinese zodiacs against your own; if rooster avoid rabbit, if sheep avoid ox, and other incompatible combinations!
