CEBU, Philippines - The holidays are coming and the Christmas edition of Folk City is back - Holiday Folk!
Folk City is a 22 Tango Records pop-up event that has toured the metro since early 2013. It has evolved a lot since its inception, with a coffee shop version and a mini-festival version, proving itself to be a premiere singer-songwriters showcase in the city. The musical event features today's most talented performing songwriters, modern and neo-folk acts who not only weave stories through melodies, but also carry some legitimate vocal chops.
It is officially Holiday Folk's second year as a music series at The Walk, IT Park. It features the music of three newly signed 22 Tango Records' artists Vincent Eco, Mary Anchit, and Lourdes Maglinte. 22 Tango Records' mainstays Ella Melendez and Cattski a.k.a Mother Folker are also performing, as well as guests like the all-girl group Silingan Ni Felicity, My Dragons Eat Cat Food, and Honeydrop. A little more excitement for this installment - The Wonggoys make a comeback performance after a six-month hiatus.
