A Double Celebration

CEBU, Philippines – The glowing sunset and the succeeding starry night sky might have been enough of a spectacle. But these were only the backdrop for the double anniversary celebration of Crimson Resort & Spa Mactan and Azure Beach Club. The multi-awarded Filipino owned and managed resort turned five and the beach club a year old.

Attended by Cebu’s glitterati, heads and leaders from various corporations, government and media personalities, the fire-and-ice themed celebration was a treat for the senses. Guests were greeted at arrival with a breathtaking pole dancing performance. Some of Azure’s favorites and bestsellers were served, including a sampler of salmon carpacio, Azure garden and rock scallop with spicy aioli, followed by seafood and chicken tandoori. Meat lovers had their slices of lamb shank and beef tenderloin. A trio of dessert capped the gustatory trip – pineapple tiramisu, green tea pudding and crystalized gumamela with passion fruit puree and crispy tofu.

A tron-and-light show was just dazzling, prompting everyone to whip up their phones to capture the moment. The show culminated in a fantastic fireworks display. The crows couldn’t stop cheering.

The celebration was not only about the Crimson’s five successful years in the hospitality business, but also about the recognitions it had earned in the last three years. “Being recognized by global hospitality award-giving bodies is such a remarkable achievement and feat for us,” says Crimson Mactan Resort Manager Kristofer Quadros. “We’re very proud of our product and service and being acknowledged by a world-wide benchmark in the industry is a solid testament that we’re indeed in the right track.”

This year alone, Crimson has been recognized by World Luxury Hotel Awards as the country winner for Luxury Beach Resort and Continent Winner for Luxury Thallaso and Spa. The resort has been a recommended property by Conde Nast Johansen since 2013 until now and a finalist of the recent Reader’s Choice Award. It is also a Haute Grandeur nominated property and its wellness sanctuary Aum Spa is the continent winner for Luxury Hotel Spa for the year.
