CEBU, Philippines – A new culinary journey sets sail with a new nightly themed buffet at the all-day dining outlet, The Sails restaurant, of Mövenpick Hotel Mactan Island Cebu.
"This special offering is sure to delight all those with discerning tastes and palates," the hotel's Food and Beverage Manager Mr. Jeryl Tio promises. It's like dining around the world. Diners are treated "to a series of gastronomic feasts of different origins," Tio adds. "Every day, there's always something new to look forward to, from weekdays until weekends."
On Mondays, guests enjoy the flavors from around the world with the East Meets West fare. "It's like sailing from coast to coast with our selection of cuisines which spans a variety of cultures, heritages and cooking philosophies from across the globe," explains Executive Chef Christian Bouby.
On Tuesdays and Thursdays it's Mediterranean. Guests are treated to epicurean delights from Spain, Italy, Greece and Lebanon. The perfect balance of nutrition and taste is capped by all-time favorites and traditional confections from the Mediterranean.
The dinner buffet on Wednesdays features a medley of ocean-fresh bounty in flavourful mixes and essences. "You can pick through a spread of our fresh catch at the grilling station and choose from specialty sauces including Cebu's famous vinegar-soy," prides Mr. Tio. "Make sure to swing by the carving station for the Chef's catch of the day."
Fridays offer the Filipino buffet, one of the highlights of the week. It's a feast of local delicacies of diverse culinary heritages. The line-up includes signature regional fares such as Kare-Kare from Luzon, Cebu's Lechon Belly from Visayas, and the famous Aligue from Mindanao. Guests are also treated to a live cultural show and traditional Filipino "harana" at the beach garden.
The weekend bursts with the flavors and aromatic spices from Vietnam, Singapore and Thailand, the seasoned noodles and tasty bites from Korea and Japan, and the delectable fare from the great wok of China. Delectable Asian cuisines await diners on Saturdays and Sundays - with the addition of unique delicacies from varied cultures and traditions of the Philippines.
