HoliCow Showroom Opens at Crossroads

CEBU, Philippines - Over lunch at Olio's hosted by Marlinda Angbetic-Tan, in lieu of her son Allen, we (Jaime, Nelia, Mila, Honey and me) had an interesting subject while lunch was going on. Mayen introduced to us the newest showroom-store in town and expounded the intricacies of having one. It's HOLICOW (Holistic Coalition of the Willing) located at Crossroads, Banilad. So after the repast, we walked to the showroom and met Holistic Coalition Communications Officer Kae Batiquin, HoliCow director Debbie Palao (former classmate of Mayen), Ina Borromeo Gaston and a friend from Manila, Baby Osmeña Madrid.

Holicow connotation is unique… since this is the magnum opus… as it were, of a group that started with the furniture industry, but intends to include a majority of Cebu's creative sectors espousing traceability, sustainability and fair trade relations in the production value chain - in short a holistic approach to design and manufacturing.

Perhaps, reflecting the structure of ASEAN and the ideal nature of their partnerships, HoliCOW (as they fondly call their movement/group) is comprised of willing and independent companies who are dedicated to elevating the industry and craft through an inclusive and holistic approach. In time, the group hopes to make holistic design and manufacturing across all industries (particularly those based in the Visayas) a major point in regionally branding Philippine design identity.

Our group was quite impressed of the display of the products at their showroom-store manufactured holistically under HoliCOW!
