Favorite hero

After class, a group of students pretended they were their favorite superheroes.

Malou: I am Darna! I can fly with the birds.

Mario: I am Lastikman! I can stretch to the clouds.

Ley: I am Captain Barbell! I can scare criminals!

Teo: I am Jonah! I can see fish bones inside a big fish!

All kids: INSIDE a big fish?! Jonah who?

And Teo narrated one of his favorite Bible stories:

"God asked Jonah to go to a city named Nineveh, and tell the people there to stop being bad. But Jonah disobeyed. He ran away and rode a ship going to another city."

"A wild storm tossed the ship around. Everyone threw their baggage overboard, so that the ship wouldn't sink and so that they wouldn't drown. The captain woke up Jonah, 'Pray to your God to help us!'"

"The sailors yelled, 'It's your fault, Jonah! Your God must be angry with you!'"

"Jonah replied, 'You're right! Throw me overboard and the storm will stop.'"

"They did just that, and the storm stopped! God sent a huge fish to swallow up Jonah so that he wouldn't drown. Jonah prayed hard, 'Lord, forgive me!'"

"Three days later, the fish spat Jonah out onto dry land. The Lord said again, 'Jonah, go to Nineveh and tell the people there to stop being bad.'"

"This time, Jonah obeyed God!"

All kids: Wooohooo!

Prayer:

God, I want to obey You right away, and not wait for a second time like Jonah did. Amen.
