Good and Delightful Chinese New Year Celebration

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines – Good food and delightful entertainment filled the Chinese New Year at Jpark Hotel and Resort.

The event started with traditional dance of Sleepy Lion and Hoi Gwong at the hotel’s Lobby. Chairman Yong Jun Park, President Justin Uy, CEO Jason Uy and Chairman Nam Goong dotted the Lion’s eye during the program that awakened the Lion to dance all around the Lobby and ate the ponkans, gold coins and cabbage placed in a tray.

The Yee Sang Toss then followed, symbolizing good luck, prosperity, health and all things auspicious. The significance of the tossing was to wish for abundance and happiness for all.

JPark employees distributed salads to the VIP guests, who were brought next to the hotel and resort’s Abalone Garden to continue welcoming the Year of the Sheep. The Jpark Performing Arts danced, sang and performed culinary strategies and techniques – to the great delight of the crowd. The celebration ended with a most colorful fireworks display that brightened up the night sky.
