An Oriental Feast for the Chinese New Year

CEBU, Philippines – The best way to kick off the Year of the Sheep is with a grand Chinese feast prepared by Chinese Master Chef Peter Yeung. Tomorrow, February 18, Radisson Blu Cebu celebrates the Chinese New Year with a dinner buffet offering at Feria. The celebration continues with lunch and dinner buffets on the following day, February19.

The Chinese dishes in the delectable spread include favorites such as pigeon, roast suckling pig, roast crispy duck and Peking duck roll, beef in Peking sauce, poached shrimp in Chinese Shaosing wine, roast beef short rib in hoisin sauce, braised pork rib in black pepper sauce, fried rice with Chinese sausage and abalone, stewed assorted mushroom with garden vegetables and the classics such as live wok noodle station and assorted Chinese dim sum.

For a more intimate gathering, private dining rooms at Feria are also available for a special lauriat menu, for a minimum of 12 persons. The menu includes such mouth-watering offerings as steamed whole grouper, Fatt Choy Yu Sheng (raw fish salad), pan-fried beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce, hot pot rice with unagi, chicken and Chinese sausage, Yin Yang style wok-fried scallops and prawns with XO sauce and braised “Ding Hu” vegetables in abalone sauce. For desserts – coconut tapioca with aloe vera jelly, glutinous rice balls with ginger tea or the traditional Chinese New Year cake (tikoy).

Tomorrow, the traditional Yee Sang Tossing and the Chinese Lion Dance at 6 p.m. take place in the Chinese New Year’s Eve festivities.
