Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa's Tides

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor Ynclino - The Freeman

Following an extensive six-month renovation, Cebu's all-day dining outlet, welcomes back its loyal diners. Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa's Tides reopened last October 28 with a bang. Guest of honor on reopening night was Lapulapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, assisted by GM Marco Vazzoler.

The vibrant, contemporary, light-colored interior has a variety of dining sections, including booth seating and semi-private nooks. The light, fresh design incorporates a number of local elements reinterpreted in novel ways by Bond Design Studio, Inc. Design components, such as art features, wall mounts and a weave-patterned ceiling, engage guests with the breadth and vitality of Cebu.

These features are complemented by daylight coming through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows overlooking the resort's lush gardens. Guests have the option to dine outdoors, embraced by the greenery and protected by free-standing umbrellas. A retractable awning is also installed to allow uninterrupted dining in the 372-sitter restaurant.

Tides' interior allows for diners to linger in and enjoy the many stations of the extensive international buffet. The restaurant serves all tastes and styles with its variety of internationally themed stations: Raw and Fresh, Western, Asian, as well as Comfort Food from the East and South-East.
