CEBU, Philippines - Intricate embroideries and form-flattering designs were the standout features of last Sunday's "Kasalang Filipino 2014" Bridal Fashion Show, where the latest bridal couture creations of Cebu's up-and-coming designers met with the timeless markers of endearing cachet designs.
Anchoring their aesthetic cues on contemporary fashion's frilly-but-not-impractical inflections, the showcased creations of designers Jose Abelida, Edwin Alba, Danny Booc, Brendon Cenon, Rei Escario, Lord Maturan, Jonas Navarro, Manuel Tumaque, Elmer de Venecio and Humberto Villegas were free from the pedantic pitfalls that front rank "disaster wedding gowns" - steered by elegant elements of draping and balanced use of fabric volume; complemented by artful embellishments and sophisticated embroideries.
Held at the Activity Center of the Ayala Center Cebu, the fashion show essentially capped the final leg of the this year's "Kasalang Filipino" traveling wedding fair and tourism roadshow - which ran over the weekend in Cebu, following after its successful runs in General Santos, Angeles, Subic, Davao, Imus, Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro and Manila.
As one of Ayala Center Cebu's revered yearly traditions, "Kasalang Filipino" is now on its 9th year in promoting the services and other offerings of the country's top wedding and tourism industry players. (FREEMAN)
