Seminario Mayor de San Carlos Homecoming
CEBU, Philippines - The community of priests, seminarians and lay people in Seminario Mayor de San Carlos (SMSC), the Archdiocesan Theology Seminary in Cebu, hold their first homecoming on August 23, Saturday, at the SMSC along St. John Paul II Ave., Mabolo, Cebu City. All those who were once students of the seminary, graduate or not, priests or lay, are enjoined to join us in the celebration.
Attendance in the event is one of the best ways to fulfill the homecoming theme: “SMSC: A Discerning Community of Priests and Lay Faithful towards Integral Formation for the Service of the Reign of God,” along with the CBCP theme for this Year of the Laity – “Filipino Catholic Laity: Called to be Saints… Sent forth as Heroes.”
The homecoming also marks the 2nd year of the devotional feast to “Christus Magister Noster” (Christ Our Teacher) and the very first commemoration of SMSC Foundation Day as an institution devoted to the formation of seminarians and priests-to-be. And, to make the occasion more memorable, several activities are lined up for the day, including the Holy Mass in the morning, parade, sports events afterwards, to be capped by a socio-cultural presentation in the evening.
Inquiries may be addressed to the seminary office or phoned in at 231-2670 or 412-7505.
