CEBU, Philippines - An on-the-spot short story writing contest participated in by kids aged 10 to 12 years old was held at the Shangril-la Mactan Resort and Spa on July 23. Twenty pupils from different schools all over Region 7 competed in the contest by writing a short story using a seahorse personified with a local name as the main character. The contestants were previously picked from over a hundred that submitted their works to qualify for the on-the-spot round. The contest was a joint project of Shangri-la Mactan Resort and Spa, iSeahorse (a marine conservation group), The Freeman, and the DepEd Region 7.
