Parade Viewing Do's and Don'ts

Yasunari Ramon Suarez Taguchi - The Freeman

Heya Kids!

CEBU, Philippines -  As exciting as viewing the Sinulog Grand Parade this Sunday may be, don't forget that parades, gatherings and festivals have their own share of do's and don'ts.

From always listening to what your parents say to never talking to strangers, here are some parade viewing do's and don'ts you should take the time to remember.

Do - Be prepared and ask for your mama's or papa's help in learning all that you can about the parade.

Knowing about the parade route, how many participants there would be and what time it would start will really help you and your parents plan the day.

Don't - It is a bad idea to go to the parade without any information handy.

For example, you could arrive late because you didn't know what time it would start, or you might get lost because you didn't learn about the parade route.

Do - Always listen to what your mom or dad tells you.

As exciting as things may be this Sunday, don't forget you should always listen to what your parents say.

Don't - It's a bad idea to stray on your own while viewing the parade, apart from not listening to your folks.

For whatever reason, never forget to stay close to your parents.

Do - Go to the bathroom before the parade starts.

If you really have to go, tell your parents about it as soon as possible.

Don't - While snacks and drinks are great to have while viewing the parade, don't eat or drink too much.

Drinking or eating too much often means more trips to the bathroom, which could mean that you'll miss out in seeing more of the parade.

Do - Apart from your parents, listen to the instructions or requests made by parade officials and police officers.

They are there to make sure that there would be no problems while you're viewing the parade.

Don't - Don't talk to strangers.

Always stay close to your parents and stay away from questionable people.
