The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines - No excuse for the modern man not to exercise. Pinoy Biggest Loser contestant Alan Choachuy, Metafit camp builder in Cebu, introduces the shortest and most effective metabolic exercise you can do anywhere, anytime. The magic number is 10 counts for each exercise until  four minutes would end.

Jumping Jack

a. Instruction: Arms wide open, parallel to the floor and feet together and when jumping up, open your legs wide.

b. Target area: Whole body. It also helps raise your heart rate.

Push up

a. Instruction: Face down, chest on the floor with your hand on the side shoulder. Your palm face should be parallel to the the floor as you push your body up. Your butt and your back must be aligned. Don’t arch your back. If you have a hard time, put your knees down (as support of the weight of your body). Repeat the same routine, but still, your butt and back should move simultaneously. Common mistake is banging your head all throughout the routine.

b. Target Area: Chest

Squat

a. Instruction: Standing up then act as if you’re sitting on the air. Make sure your knees do not go beyond the margin of your toes—butt out, chest out, straight body. If you have problems with balancing, try to hold on to something and perform the same workout.

b. Target area: Legs

Lunges

a. Instruction: Feet together, make one big step forward using the left leg. Slowly lower your right leg, knees almost touching the floor. Your left knee must not go beyond your toes’ margin. So your workout will be in up and down motion. Do 10 repetions each leg.

b. Target Area: Legs
