CEBU, Philippines - The celebration of our city charter’s Diamond Jubilee would not be complete without the showcase of 75 stunning creations from Sugbuanon designers.

Noteworthy numbers at this charter day gala include Rey Humberto Villegas’ dazzling collection that suited the diamond anniversary theme quite well. Dino Lloren’s pieces were a mixture of sparkly, eye-catching gowns, an impressive blue number and some glamour nudes. Lord Maturan’s striking Blue Suit also made an impression.

Philip Rodriguez won the crowd over when Karla Henry emerged on the runway in a floral, Maria Clara wedding dress. Meanwhile, Cary Santiago’s creations possessed an attitude of their own with each color—red, green (almost close to Emerald, 2013’s favorite), pink, maroon, orange, and blue.

Jun Escario’s black and white pieces proved that anti-colors never go out of style. Aside from gala parties such as this one, women on top could rule their empire and be fabulous at the same time when wearing his latest collection of lace dresses.

Another standout last Sunday would have to be Ruffa Guttierez in Cary Santiago that dazzled the crowd with her signature smile and the sparkle and shine of her spectacular black dress. (FREEMAN)
