Dinner Reception for UV Chorale

PEOPLE PLACES - Flor S. YNCLINO - The Freeman

The FREEMAN Chairman and JRG Halad Museum Founder Dr. Jose "Dodong" R. Gullas and his wife Mrs. Nena Gullas will host a dinner reception at the Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu on December 2, 2012 at 6pm to honor the UV Chorale who recently returned from a very successful tour competition in Europe.

This affair (by invitation only) is Sir Dodong's way of thanking those who helped realize UV Chorale's dream to sing at the canonization of Pedro Calungsod and to compete in Europe's choral competition. In fact, the UV Chorale indeed sang at the last day of the Triduum Masses prior to the canonization of Pedro Calungsod at the Vatican, and at the luncheon for dignitaries and Bishops after the rites on October 21.

Being the founder of the chorale in 1999, Sir Dodong and wife Nena decided to welcome and honor the UV Chorale with a warm reception for giving the University of the Visayas the fame and glory beyond compare.

The Chorale won 3 golds and a special prize in the Grand Prix for garnering the highest scores in different categories in the Rimini International Choral Competition.

Led by Choirmaster Anna Tabita Abelada-Piquero, the UV Chorale was among 17 choirs from all over the world that joined the four-day international chorale competition sponsored by the City of Rimini in Italy.

Special guests of Dodong and Nena are Archbishop Emeritus Ricardo Cardinal Vidal and Archbishop Jose Palma.
