Miss Cebu 2025 Candidate #7 Lorieche Layne Galariana
CEBU, Philippines — Growing up in a family that stuck their ears to the radio, Lorieche Layne Galariana got a taste of her dream to become a radio broadcaster during her internship at DYLA where she worked as field reporter.
“That was when I told myself, this is something I’d love to do for the rest of my life,” Galariana recalled.
The 22-year-old aspiring journalist initially planned to pursue a career in broadcasting after earning her degree in broadcast journalism. But she opted for a job in the BPO industry as a team leader, drawn by the better pay that would allow her to support her family as its breadwinner.
She plans to return to media once her financial situation stabilizes, bringing with her valuable experiences from the BPO industry to her dream job.
“Working in the BPO sector made me realize that meeting and interacting with many people helps you grow and become more socially aware,” she shared.
Galariana considers her media background an advantage in Miss Cebu 2025. “Being exposed to the news is a helpful tool for me to stay aware of what’s happening in Cebu,” she explained to The FREEMAN. “It’s a unique factor because it allows me to see the issues first-hand and address them.”
If crowned Miss Cebu 2025, she would highlight Cebu’s dried fish, locally known as buwad, to showcase the hard work of the people behind it.
