‘The Voice Generations’: With teams complete, battles are on

The Freeman

CEBU, Philippines — All four teams are locked and loaded, and it’s time to start the battle round.

After fighting through the Blind Auditions and The Sing-offs, the four coaches and their respective teams made their way to The Battle Round on The Voice Generations last Sunday.

Groups competing in The Battle round for Coach Billy Crawford’s Team Bilib are the Ayta Brothers after they serenaded the coaches and the crowd with “Tayo Na Lang”, G-CODE with their fierce rendition of “Salute”, Fources with their expressive version of “Iris” by Goo Goo Dolls, and P3 with their evocative cover of “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

From Coach Chito Miranda’s Parokya ni Chito, Sorority devoured the stage with their cover of “I’m Every Woman” while Twirali’s intense cover of “And I’m Telling You I’m Not Going” saved their spot together with Kris N' Cha after their magnetic version of “How Am I Supposed to Live Without You.” The Queens also made it to the next round after performing their classy version of “New York, New York.”

Meanwhile, Coach Julie Anne San Jose picked Alliyana Trio to move on to The Battle round because of their harmonious performance of “Habang May Buhay.” Joining the JulesSquad are Music & Me after performing their melodious version of “It’s All Coming Back To Me”, Mamaland after their moving cover of “Rise Up”, and O Duo with their performance of “Where Is The Love.”

Coach Stell’s teams left everyone captivated with their performance last Sunday. Team Stellbound is composed of Vocalmyx with their playful acapella version of “Marupok,” Luntayao Family after their magnificent cover of “We Are The Champions,” Fortenors with their mesmerizing cover of “Sana’y Wala Nang Wakas,” and Mark & Willy after their exceptional rendition of “Buwan.”

“The Voice Generations” will get even more interesting after The Sing-offs, as The Battle round is definitely a different challenge as the pressure gets more intense, with each talent giving their best in order to outshine their opponent, as well as to impress everyone, most importantly their coach.

Each of the four coaches will create two battles between the talents, pitting one against the other. The coaches will have to select who wins each battle, sending two talents home and two talents to the semi-finals.

As the program progresses, the talents will face even tougher challenges, pushing them to their utmost potential. “The Voice Generations” host, Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes will help navigate the happy, but sometimes heartbreaking journeys of the talents in the competition. Viewers will have to stay tuned to witness history unfold in this first production of “The Voice Generations” in Asia.

“The Voice Generations” airs Sundays at 7:35 p.m. on GMA Network and Pinoy Hits. The program also airs at 10:45 p.m on GTV. — (FREEMAN)
