Vin Abrenica flattered by comparisons to Arjo Atayde

STAR CIRCUIT - Ricky Calderon - The Freeman

Kapamilya hunk Vin Abrenica is happy with the positive feedback their show “A Soldier’s Heart” is getting from the televiewers when it was still airing. The show is temporarily off the air since they’ve stopped taping due to the Covid-19 virus. But the network promised the show will return soon..

“The program shows both sides the spectrum – the life of a military man and his Muslim counterpart. The show also sends the message that having a disability should not be a hindrance for you to serve the country,” said Vin in a recent interview.

“We would do everything for our family. But soldiers will leave their families to serve the country and protect us while we are sleeping. I find it truly amazing that soldiers won’t hesitate to leave their families and the comfort of their homes to serve the country and protect every Filipino.”

Vin got to read some comments comparing his interaction with Gerald Anderson in “A Soldier’s Heart” with that of Arjo Atayde’s and Coco Martin in “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”

“It’s flattering to be compared to Arjo who is my idol when it comes to acting. I have the highest respect for him and to be compared with my friend is really an honor. It’s flattering.”

How is it like working with Gerald Anderson? “He is very good in his role. What I like about Gerald is that he knows how to talk to everybody. He knows how to approach his role with regards to his character and how it relates to his co-stars. We are seven guys with varied personalities and ages. He knows how to interact with us. We are a seven-man team of Scout Rangers and Gerald is our leader. For me, he is perfect in his role as team leader in ‘A Soldier’s Heart’ and as his co-actor.”

Vin was recently signed up by the Hanford line of clothing as endorser. Since he will be endorsing shirts and underwear, he is willing to do a pictorial in his undies. Besides, this is his first endorsement and he is giving Hanford his full support and cooperation.

With Hanford, the actor is expected to bare some skin. What is his opinion on being objectified? “That only happens when you think it’s true. Para sa akin I believe naman na I have something else to offer. I love myself. I love working out. I love this lifestyle and kung yun ang nakikita nila, that is not what I see. I appreciate the people that matter to me and hindi naman iyon ang nakikita nila sa akin. So yun talaga ang nagre-register sa akin.”

Of his favorite part of his body, the hunk said, “Honestly, it’s my jaw. Ever since iyan talaga. Trinabaho ko talaga iyan, workout lang,” said Vin who tries to exercise for 45 minutes everyday if possible.

What advice can he give to guys who are not as physically fit as he is but would probably like to have a body like him? “It’s hard to teach and to have confidence. First, you have to love yourself. You have to find something in you for you to accept who you really are. Once you’ve accepted it, you will learn to love yourself. You have to embrace having a good lifestyle and if you decide to work out and make yourself fit, mark your word. Don’t procrastinate, you make your word and you mark that word. If you want to be consistent, be consistent. It’s the key.”
