CEBU, Philippines — With less than two weeks until the Miss World Philippines 2018 coronation night, the 40 MWP candidates are done making first impressions and are now doing their best to finish strong in the competition and hopefully clinch one of the four crowns up for grabs.

After their two-day adventure in El Nido, Palawan for video and photo shoots and Beach Beauty Competition, the ladies underwent the MWP Sports Challenge at the Victoria Sports Tower. Testing their endurance and strength through several physical activities, the candidates proved that they are healthy as they are beautiful. But at the end of the day, only 10 candidates stood out.

Not only fair but also fit, Cebu City representative Neesha Murjani made it to the Top 10 finalists of the MWP Sports Challenge. The 25-year-old Miss Cebu 2013 title-holder conquered the challenge alongside Katarina Rodriguez, Marianne Marquez, Kim De Guzman, Crissia Del Atienza, Cleopatra Jones, Jerelleen Rodriguez, Rose Murphy, Inna Penales, and Kimi Mugford. The Sports Challenge winner will be fast-tracked into the semis.

Neesha wrote on her Instagram handle that she took the fitness challenge so seriously that she might have competed in a sports meet rather than in a beauty pageant. The Fil-Indian, who works in marketing communications in Manila but also runs the family business in Cebu told The Freeman in a recent interview how she focused on her body when she prepared to join MWP because she felt that the weight she gained was one of the things holding her back. Her last pageant stint was in 2015 for Binibining Pilipinas.

It seems Neesha trained well, her dedication reflecting on her performance in the Sports Challenge.

For her pageant comeback, Neesha likes to think that she will be going home with the Miss World Philippines 2018 crown.

“I’m really determined. I’m giving my 101 percent. But whatever the outcome, I’m sure that I’m going to be a whole different person after because I’ll grow a lot and I’ll have new friends,” the nursing graduate from Cebu Doctors’ University said.

The MWP 2018 coronation night will be held Oct. 7 at the Mall of Asia Arena.
