Eva Patalinjug gets official Binibining Pilipinas send-off

CEBU, Philippines — It’s becoming all too real for Binibining Pilipinas Grand International 2018 Eva Psychee Patalinjug as her international competition inches closer.

The Cebuana beauty queen recently got her official Bb. Pilipinas send-off at Novotel Manila Araneta Center alongside Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2018 Michele Gumabao who will be competing for the Miss Globe crown in Tirana, Albania from October 9-21.

Their fellow queens, Miss Universe Philippines 2018 Catriona Gray, Bb. Pilipinas International 2018 Ahtisa Manalo, Bb. Pilipinas Supranational 2018 Jehza Huelar and Bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental 2018 Karen Gallman graced the event to offer words of love and support as Eva and Michele are the first two out of the six to begin their international missions.

For this year’s Miss Grand International, Eva will be competing with over 80 delegates from all over the world. The aspiring lawyer will vie for the crown in the Golden Land of Myanmar on Oct. 25 at The One Entertainment Park in Yangon.

A pageant for peace, Miss Grand International advocates to end all forms of violence inside the home and between nations. The competition advocates for all wars to be eliminated to achieve happiness for the sake of the next generations, as well as the world’s quality of living.

Eva, also a Mutya ng Pilipinas title-holder, hopes to outdo fellow Cebuana Elizabeth Clenci who placed second runner-up last year in Vietnam, and Nicole Cordoves, who was first runner-up in 2016.

The 25-year-old will be wearing a Cary Santiago creation for her national costume and a Philipp Tampus evening gown.

She recently shared that the challenge for her now is to exceed her highest achievements.

“I want to make a difference, and I want people to look up to me. Which is why I want to constantly better myself because I want people to follow my footsteps, to make a change, and even do greater than me,” the Lapu-Lapu City native had told The Freeman.

“This time, I’m not only representing Cebu but the Philippines, and I want to make the country proud. I want to make my family and those who believed in me from the very beginning proud. I don’t want to let anyone down.”

Eva is set to depart for Yangon, Myanmar by the end of September.
