‘3 Stars, 1 Heart’: Wish granted for Pinoys in Dubai

CEBU, Philippines — GMA Network’s “3 Stars, 1 Heart” concert series concluded its successful Dubai leg last June 16 at the Dubai World Trade Center.

Kapuso abroad from all over the Middle East flocked to witness the powerful trio of Asia’s Romantic Balladeer Christian Bautista, Asia’s Pop Sweetheart Julie Anne San Jose, and Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid in a spectacular and jam-packed show made possible by OSN and GMA Pinoy TV.

One of the highlights of the night was the Regine by Request segment where 10 lucky fans and OSN subscribers were treated to an on-stage and up close serenade from the Songbird herself, as well as Christian and Julie Anne.  Not only were their song requests granted, they also received VIP tickets to the concert, all-expense paid hotel accommodations and round trip tickets.

Some members of the audience took to social media to express their gratitude for bringing home closer to them.

“Thank you for bringing these amazing talents to Dubai,” Marianne Cabrera Van-Hoek wrote on Facebook. “Para na rin kaming nakauwi ng Pilipinas! More power to GMA Pinoy TV!”

Jhonna Lou Ebro, another OFW in Dubai, did not pass up the chance to meet her idol, “Dream come true po kasi talaga makita si Ms. Regine kaya talagang pinili naming ‘yung may kasamang meet and greet para magka-picture naman with our idol!”

On Instagram, @thefanartfactory said, “Congratulations @myjaps @reginevalcasid @xtianbautista! Paganda ng paganda ang leg sa concert series na ‘to. Ang kukulit sa vid! Hahaha. Solid daming tao! #3Stars1HeartDubai.”

Twitter user Sherry Anne Yee also posted a photo of the artists onstage with the caption, “It was worth every second. The artists, the outfits, the songs, the music, the atmosphere…they were all amazing!!! #3Stars1HeartDubai @gmapinoytv.”

Pinoy pride stood out not only from the world-class performances of the trio, but also from the stunning gowns and suits provided by renowned Filipino designers Ezra Santos of EZRA Couture, Ryan Pacioles of Atelier Zuhra, and Furne One of Amato Couture.

Apart from the concert itself, the Kapuso stars also had the chance to perform inspiring song numbers and deliver heartfelt messages to comfort OFWs in the Philippine Overseas Labor Office (POLO) at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA). They also paid a courtesy visit to Philippine Consulate General to Dubai and Northern Emirates Paul Cortes.
