Ironman junkie
CEBU, Philippines – Piolo Pascual returned to Cebu for his third Ironman event, adding star power to the festive atmosphere in this year’s Cobra Ironman 70.3 Philippines.
The Kapamilya actor, who endorses the life insurance leader Sun Life, once again joined the Sun Life Tri Team led by the company’s executives.
The star expressed his appreciation of the opportunity to represent the Sun Life Tri Team that included Sun Life President and CEO Riza Mantaring, the designated runner for the mixed relay team; Sun Life Chief Investments Officer Michael Enriquez; and the brand ambassador himself, Piolo, who was grouped with an all-male cycling team.
Piolo said that to prepare, he worked out twice a week and brought his bike with him everywhere so he could train during downtime on set.
What keeps him coming back for Ironman every year? “It’s good to push yourself to limits, discover more things about yourself and being able to learn and achieve something. I want to be an inspiration to all, especially to volunteers and students who wear their uniforms on a Sunday and never fail to cheer me up by showing their full support during the competition,” said Piolo.
The father of one further shared that he manages to keep himself in top shape despite a packed calendar by biking and running as much as he can.
Piolo also shared that being Sun Life Financial’s endorser for many years now helped him manage his wealth and health. “It’s really important to save up and invest for the future so whatever happens, your family is secured.”
The sought-after leading man is currently filming “Hele sa Hiwagang Hapis,” a Lav Diaz film that assembles a powerhouse cast.
