Marian Rivera launches fragrance line

Marian Rivera’s fans can’t seem to get enough of her as the loyal followers of the Kapuso Primetime Queen trooped to the Trinoma Mall Activity Center to witness the launch of her line of fragrances from Bench.

The famed clothing brand, which is also known for coming up with scents for celebrities, made sure the launch will be something that the fans of Marian would remember. The stage alone looked expensive, and when Marian entered the stage for her flamenco dance, her fans cheered in delight. It was her first major appearance in public after her wedding, not counting her doing the Sugod Bahay segment of “Eat Bulaga” twice a week.

Aside from coming out with a clothing line and an intimate apparel, part of Marian’s endorsement deal with Bench is a fragrance line – the scents include an Inner Beauty Eue de Toilette and three body sprays called Perfect Kiss, Love and Moment.

Marian was in a jovial mood when she met the press for an interview after the launch. She said she’s so happy being a married woman and adds that she wakes up each morning in a good mood because her husband is so handsome. While she doesn’t get to cook breakfast for Dingdong Dantes (who has to leave the house early for the location shoot of his new soap “Pari ‘Koy”), Marian makes it a point to prepare a delicious dinner for him.

She is set to start taping her new soap by the second week of March, the story of which touches on lesbianism. She says the show aims to show different kinds of love. The team behind the new soap was also the one behind the highly-successful and award-winning “My Husband’s Lover.”

Marian was asked to comment on the question posed by Vice Ganda to Karylle in an episode of “It’s Showtime” where the comedian asked the ex-girlfriend of Dingdong if she had experienced “being robbed of a boyfriend” to which Karylle answered “yes.”

“Bakit, sa amin ba ni Dingdong pinatutungkol yun? Wala namang binanggit na pangalan, di ba? So hayaan na lang natin. Magre-react lang ako kung sinabing si Dingdong yun. Sana maging masaya na lang sila sa kanilang buhay may asawa kasi ako, ang saya-saya ng buhay ko at ayaw ng mister ko ng negative vibes, kaya stay positive na lang tayo.”

Alex Gonzaga is certainly following in the footsteps of her sister Toni Gonzaga as a multi-media star. Aside from hosting the recently concluded “The Voice Philippines,” she is a regular host in “ASAP” and pretty soon will be seen in a new TV series titled “Inday Bote” which was based on a hit movie by Maricel Soriano.

She also launched her new album and her book titled “Dear Alex, Break Na Kami, Paano?” is a certified best seller. But brace yourselves because Alex is poised to conquer the concert stage via her first solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum titled “AG From the East, The Unexpected Concert.”

The title was taken from the initials of her name and that of her favorite artist Ariana Granda who is from the West while she is from the East, since she hails from Taytay, Rizal.

“My concert has the hashtag ‘The Unexpected’ since I myself, did not expect that I will have a concert. When our producer Joed Serrano first offered this, I said no to him twice. I felt I am not ready for it; besides, Araneta Coliseum is such a big venue. But he was very persistent so I told him to talk to my dad. If my dad says yes, then I will do it,” Alex said.

But her producer Joed is a risk-taker. He was the one who produced the first major concert of Vice Ganda which was a hit.  He believes Alex has what it takes to draw the crowds in, and that the success he had with Vice Ganda will be repeated by Alex. So when he presented the concert to Alex’s dad, he was able to convince him that she’s ripe for an Araneta gig. Joed also said that the opening number of Alex had been conceptualized by the star herself and if everything turns out well, they have a good show in their hands.

Joed believes Alex can fill up Araneta and come up with a good show. It is a big challenge but Alex is out to prove her detractors wrong by taking on the challenge.

“Nakakakaba, pero positive na lang and hope for the best. Pinag-pray ko talaga ito kay Lord. Nagpapasalamat talaga ako kay Joed kasi pinagtitiwalaan niya ang talent ko. Sabi ko, baka siya talaga ang ginagamit ni Lord para mag-concert ako. Pero pag hindi nagtagumpay ito, alam na natin, hindi si Lord ang gumamit sa kanya.”

Among her guests are her Ate Toni and her friend Maja Salvador. “Yung iba, hindi pa nagko-confirm. Malayo pa naman, April 25, so marami pang puwedeng pumayag maging guests ko by that time.”

Tickets for Alex’s “The Unexpected Concert” are now available at the Araneta Coliseum box office.
