Miss Cebu 2015 pre-pageant this Saturday

CEBU, Philippines – The Cebu City Tourism Commission, Cebu City Tourism Foundation and the City of Cebu is inviting everyone to the Pre-Pageant Night of Miss Cebu 2015 on Saturday, January 10, 6:30 p.m. at The Terraces, Ayala Center Cebu.

Get to know the 12 candidates as they journey toward becoming the 31st Miss Cebu. The candidates will be in Fun Wear creations made by Cebu’s top young designers. Candidates 1-3 Hanica Rachael Arshia Ong, Febb Flores and Mary Cyrielle Wong will be donning the designs of Rei Escario. Candidates 4-6 Aivy Mae Castro, Katherine Jumapao and Rio Liza Vestil will be wearing designs by Charmaine Chua, candidates 7-9 Lucena Rose Magdadaro, Catherine Mier and Rosalyn Clavano will be wearing the creations of JP Cabigon and candidates 10-12 Ma. Genefe Navilon, Domenic Reynes, and Wynonah Van Joy Buot will be wearing designs by Mique Yapching.

The finalists will also be wearing creative designs from Bree Esplanada, Roni Yu, Joyce Maw and Mary Ty in another segment. Maquillage will be provided by the Make Up Artists Club of Cebu (MUACC).

Prior to the crowning of this year’s Miss Cebu, a series of seminars and workshops were held to prepare the candidates. The trainings aim to provide knowledge and awareness on the different sectors and industries of Cebu as well as to develop each finalist’s characteristics.

In partnership with different personalities and organizations in Cebu, the Miss Cebu 2015 finalists underwent a series of activities gearing towards holistic growth. These include the Toastmasters communication workshop, workshop on communications with Margie Visitacion at Communications Arts Learning Center, talk on personality development by Miss Intercontinental 2nd runner-up Kris Janson, media training with broadcaster Rico Lucena and dialogues with Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama.

Together with MUACC, Jonas Borces taught the essential skills in every pageant through a set of trainings on walking, makeup application and wardrobe and jewelry selection. Learning to maintain the grace of a beauty queen, the finalists also attended a lecture on business etiquette and fine dining by Julie Najar and lecture on social graces and protocol by Dr. Milagros Espina.

Upholding the essence of a true Cebuana, Miss Cebu 2015 candidates were given a cultural background of the province with a lecture on Visayan language headed by Carlo Dugaduga and a workshop on Cebu history, culture and heritage led by Cebu City Tourism Commission Chairperson Tetta Baad. Talks on the successful tourism industry of Cebu by Commissioner Alice Queblatin and Marlon Barrientos of D.O.T. VII, and lectures on business prospects and Cebu’s export industries by Jay Aldeguer and Hope Melgar respectively have given the finalists much insights on how to promote the Queen City of the South.

Exploring more of Cebu, the candidates took Cebu City’s official cultural and heritage tour where they visited the mountain barangays via the 1st Cebu City Mayor’s River-Mountain Trail Run. The finalist also participated in several events such as Pasko sa Sugbo, Cebu’s 1st Diwali Festival and CCTC’s Balik Cebu Program, as well as went to provinces to discover the wonders of nature such as the Boho river, Mainit springs and Aguinid Falls.

The Coronation Night of the 31st Miss Cebu will be held on January 14, Wednesday, 6:30 p.m. at the Pacific Grand Ballroom of the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino and will be telecast live on Studio 23. Tickets for the Coronation Night are now available at the online voting booths, Waterfront Cebu City Hotel & Casino, Cebu City Tourism Commission Office at the 2nd floor of the Rizal Museum and Public Library in Osmeña Boulevard at P500, P1,000, and P1,500.
