CEBU, Philippines - Amid the stormy weather, Cebuanos still have a reason to smile as GMA Artist Center talents Alden Richards and Max Collins take a Mactan-bound flight to pay their local supporters a visit today.
In a Kapuso Mall Show set to happen at the Gaisano Island Mall Mactan beginning 4 p.m., the two young stars showcase thrilling production numbers to the audience. But aside from that, they too, have good news to share with their fans about their respective showbiz careers.
This second half of 2014, Alden takes a break from doing boy-next-door and leading man roles to pave way for a much serious portrayal of no less than the country’s national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal, via the upcoming historical series “Ilustrado.”
Under the creation of GMA News and Public Affairs, “Ilustrado” is already the network’s fourth foray into social-realist drama production following “Bayan Ko,” “Titser,” and the soon-to-air “Sa Puso ni Dok,” which is a drama on government hospital issues.
Meanwhile, after passing an international casting call, Max, of the recently concluded afternoon soap “Innamorata,” bags the lead role in a movie by a Doha-based company tentatively titled “Remembering Ada.” Co-starring with her in the said film are Alden and Kapuso actress LJ Reyes. (FREEMAN)
