Marian ‘a blessed soul’

 Mother Lily Monteverde, the grand patriarch of Regal Entertainment, has a property in Taal, Batangas and the lady producer is so enamored with the place that she goes there regularly if she really has the time to spare. Mother Lily is close to Pong Mercado, the vice mayor of Taal, Batangas who used to work in Regal Films as a line producer during the 80s.

Mother Lily was recently seen with the Taal Vice Mayor in a gathering. Is it true that Mother Lily is thinking of registering in Batangas as a voter come May? If this is so, should we wait for a grand announcement from the lady producer? What could she have in mind?

The showbiz people love Mother Lily because of her love for the movies. Some of her movies are probably not earning as much at the box-office but this doesn’t stop her from producing films which have brought acclaim to Regal Entertainment.

Marian Rivera is one blessed soul. The star of GMA-7’s “Carmela” must be the envy of many since she seems to be getting choice endorsements and beautiful projects. After her contract signing for a new endorsement (fabric conditioner), Marian was recently introduced as the endorser of a herbal slimming tea (Biofitea) early this week. The actress, who won an award for “Amaya,” arrived at the venue in a sexy white dress that all the more showed her magnetic appeal.

She was recently voted as the sexiest woman in a men’s magazine, the autograph signing of which attracted a huge crowd, more than the number who came last year for the same event.

Marian said she didn’t imagine reaching the kind of popularity that she now enjoys. She is so thankful for the blessings that are coming her way – more endorsements, a career that is going great, a very supportive family and a loving boyfriend in Dingdong Dantes. She says she can’t ask for anything more.

When asked to comment on the wedding of Karylle (the ex-girlfriend of Dingdong) to his boyfriend Yael Yuzon, she said she is happy for the singer-actress. But when asked if there will be wedding bells for her and Dingdong, she said “not so near yet not so far.” A lot of things are happening in her life right now and she is not thinking of settling down yet due to many commitments.

She is proud of her new endorsement, because she found it to be very effective when she tried it. “I am not the type who’d endorse the product if I don’t believe in it,” said Marian. “I would like to invite the women to try it because it is proven healthy and effective to eliminate unwanted wastes in our body.” Aside from drinking the herbal slimming tea, Marian urges women to have discipline in their food intake and exercise as well. “It pays to have discipline to maintain a sexy body,” added the Kapuso star.

The Pep List 2013 Awards Night will be held at the Solaire Grand Ballroom of the Solaire Resort and Casino on May 20, 2014. In the presscon held the other day at Mango Tree restaurant at The Fort and hosted by Ai Ai delas Alas, the winners of the Pep List 2013 Awards were formally announced.

James Yap and Kim Chiu were voted Newsmakers of the Year of the Pepsters Choice Awards.

The other winners of the Pepsters Choice Awards who got more than 18 million votes are as follows:

Celebrity Pair of the Year - Dennis Trillo and Tom Rodriguez; TV Male and Female Star of the Year - Vic Sotto and Kim Chiu; Showbiz Treasures of the Year - Joey de Leon and Nora Aunor; Teen Stars of the Year - Elmo Magalona and Julie Anne San Jose; Female and Male Child Stars of the Year - Ryzza Mae Dizon and Renz Valerio; FAB Award winners - Xian Lim and Lovi Poe; Breakout Star of the Year - Tom Rodriguez; and OPM Star of the Year - Daniel Padilla.

Present during the announcement of winners were Dennis and Tom, James Yap, Daniel and Renz Valerio (who doesn’t look like a child actor but more of a teenager already).

Dennis said he was pleasantly surprised that he and Tom were chosen as Celebrity Pair of the Year. “Our team-up in ‘My Husband’s Lover’ in 2013 was really much-talked about and I find being chosen as Celebrity of the Year as refreshing. It is not common that two men will be chosen as Celebrity Pair. What we did in MHL created so much impact to the public that’s why they voted for us for this award,” said Dennis who was named Outstanding Actor in a Drama Series at the 5th Golden Screen TV Awards given by the Entertainment Press Society last Friday.

“I still can’t believe this is happening,” said Tom. “After our show ended in October, I thought that was it. But during our promo for our album, a lot of fans approached us. We believe what happened to us in ‘My Husband’s Lover’ exceeded our expectations. I thought because of our show, baka batuhin kami ng kamatis ng mga tao. Makitid ang isip ko for having that in my thoughts. We are happy for this award.”
