UC wins in PSME National Quiz Bowl
CEBU, Philippines - The University of Cebu Mechanical Engineering Quiz Bowl Team emerged as Champion in the Philipp ine Society of Mechanical Engineers or PSME National Quiz Bowl held during the 3rd PSME National Mechanical Engineering Student Conference at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
The UC Team bested 48 schools nationwide. The champion quiz bowlers include: Joseph Bryan Marollano, Chernan Madugay, John Siegfred Saludar, Edmar Ogaro and Micah Arceño. They were ably guided by their coaches, namely: Engr. Rodel Naval, Engr. Ronnie Alcorcon and Engr. Cecilio Estoconing.
The 3rd PSME National Mechanical Engineering Student Conference carried the theme "Expanding Global Competitiveness through Innovation and Synergy of Mechanical Engineering Students." It is among the many events of PSME geared toward the promotion of excellence in the profession and to encourage fellowship and cooperation among mechanical engineers.
The quiz bowl was among the highlights of the event. Second place went to Polytechnic University of the Philippines, Taguig, and third place went to Batangas State University. (FREEMAN)
