2 Bato NHS journos top in RSPC '13 Odilon Mambaje, SST-III, Bato NHS

CEBU, Philippines - Younkeer Ikee Adlawan and Lissa Mae Macapobre of Bato National High School both finished second place in Editorial Cartooning and Photo Journalism (Filipino), respectively in the recently concluded 2013 Central Visayas Regional Schools Press Conference held in the City of Naga last Dec.26 to 28.

From the 140 campus journalists of the Toledo City division who joined the different categories during the RSPC, only nine came out victorious. For the elementary level, they were Kherlee Jade Nillas of Talavera Elementary School - first place in Editorial Cartooning (English), Brian Bucagan of Old Bucao Elementary School- second place in Sports Writing (Filipino) and Cariel Royce Torcende of Gen. P. del Rosario- fifth place in Photo Journalism (English).

Other winners in the secondary level were Jireh Magosara - second place in Editorial Cartooning (English) and Joyce Erlinda Belasoto- fifth place in News Writing (English) both are students from Toledo City Science High while Arwella Grace Gregorio and Ernah Joy Caballero from Consolatrix College of Toledo City landed second and third in Feature Writing, English and Filipino, respectively.

The first top three winners shall qualify for the 2014 National Schools Press Conference to be hosted by Region III in April. (FREEMAN)
