GMA Network honored at 2013 Anak TV Awards

CEBU, Philippines - Various GMA Network programs and personalities were honored in the 2013 Anak TV Seal Awards held Dec. 12 in Quezon City.

GMA’s Vice President for News Programs Jessica Soho, the country’s most awarded broadcast journalist, was elevated to the Anak TV Roster of Makabata Stars Hall of Fame for consistently leading the annual Anak TV survey for the past eight years. Soho, who banners GMA’s news magazine program “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho” and GMA News TV’s flagship primetime newscast “State of the Nation with Jessica Soho,” was cited for “embodying credibility, integrity and wholesomeness on Philippine television.”

Named this year’s Anak TV Roster of Makabata Stars were Kapuso Primetime King and Queen Dingdong Dantes and Marian Rivera, “Eat Bulaga” hosts Vic Sotto and Ryan Agoncillo, news anchor Kara David, and GMA News pillar Vicky Morales.

Longest running noontime variety show “Eat Bulaga,” in turn, topped the list of the country’s Most Well-Liked TV Programs. Also included in the list were GMA’s flagship primetime newscast “24 Oras,” and “Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho.”

A number of GMA and GMA News TV programs that were deemed “admirable,” “wholesome,” and “worthy of emulation by children” were likewise given the Anak TV Seal during the awarding ceremonies.

Receiving the Anak TV Seal were GMA programs “Aha! Bonakid Pre-school Ready, Set, Laban,” “Born Impact,” “Del Monte Kitchenomics,” “I-Bilib,” “Kap’s Amazing Stories,” “Kusina Master,” “Pinoy MD,” “Tropang Potchi,” and “Wish Ko Lang.”

Anak TV Seals were also given to GMA News TV programs “Ang Pinaka,” “I Juander,” “Born to be Wild,” “Good News,” “Idol sa Kusina,” “PopTalk,” “SME Go!,” and “Sports Pilipinas.”  (FREEMAN)
