Sharon stars in her first sitcom

Sharon Cuneta will have a concert in Dubai on December titled Christmas in Dubai. This will be held at the Dubai Wonderland (Theme and Water Park). The Megastar will be joined by her daughter KC Concepcion as her special guest. The first 300 ticket holders will have a chance for a meet-and-greet, presscon, CD signing and photo opportunity.

Sharon’s new show on TV5 titled “Madam Chairman” started airing on Monday at TV5. This is something new for her as she tries comedy for a change. But Sharon welcomes the change in her career. It’s about time she tries something to give her career a different dimension. It is our wish that Sharon’s fans and the audience in general will embrace the change that Sharon has brought into her career.

There is no network war as far as the PLDT Smart Foundation’s Gabay Guro 2 is concerned as they pay tribute to our beloved teachers as it celebrates Teacher’s Month via a Grand Gathering on Oct. 26 at the MOA Arena.

The event is hosted by Edu Manzano and Derek Ramsay — both TV5 artists — and the annual Grand Gathering breaks the so-called network exclusivity “barrier” as it will feature performances by the country’s top celebrities from both the Kapamilya and the Kapuso networks. Among the stars who have agreed to grace the Gabay Guro 2 are Ryzza Mae Dizon, Anne Curtis, Judy Ann Santos, Marian Rivera, Jodi Sta. Maria, Martin Nievera, Pops Fernandez and Rocco Nacino.

The Gabay Guro team, led by no less than PLDT Smart Foundation Chairman of the Board of Trustees Manny V. Pangilinan and 2G Chairman Ms. Chaye Cabal Revilla, will be there to lend their invaluable support to the teachers.

The event will also witness the giving away of the biggest and most exciting prizes yet — a house and lot courtesy of Stateland, Inc. and a brand new Foton CCV van – for the two luckiest teachers this year. Other prizes up for grabs are livelihood program packages and cash gifts.

“It is for the love of our dear teachers which made us thought of this project,” said MVP’s VP for Finance, Ms. Chaye Cabal Revilla, who added that the idea for Gabay Guro was hatched over a coffee break. “Our teachers have given us so much in terms of knowledge and it’s time that we give back something to them. For every teacher that we know, she has touched many lives. And we thought that if we chose teachers for this project, more students stand to benefit from it.”

Gabay Guro is an education arms and flagship project of the PLDT Smart Foundation that is run by volunteers composed of executives from the PLDT’s Manager’s Club.

The Gabay Guro 2 is just part of the program of the PLDT Smart Foundation’s initiative to help the teacher’s well-being. Also in the core program of Gabay Guro are scholarships, trainings, housing and educational facilities, livelihood programs, broadbanding and computerization and teacher’s tribute.

Bea Alonzo tries a new partnership in teaming up with Kapuso Primetime King Dingdong Dantes via Star Cinema’s “She’s The One” in this movie about two best friends who find themselves pushed into a complicated romantic situation.

When she found out that she was going to be working with Dingdong, Bea became very excited. Dingdong has worked with some of Kapamilya network’s top leading ladies in Kris Aquino (Segunda Mano), Angel Locsin and Angelica Panganiban (One More Try), but this would be his first time to star opposite Bea, who’s glad that she was one chosen for the project.

“I’ve been wanting to have the chance to work with him because I’ve heard a lot of good things about him,” said Bea who is more identified with John Lloyd.

Making the movie a potentially bigger audience draw is the addition of a second new screen tandem in Enrique Gil (dubbed as the “Next Ultimate Leading Man”) and Star Magic 2013 discovery and emerging ‘It Girl’ Liza Soberano who play important roles in the movie.

Directed by Mae Czarina Cruz, “She’s The One” is about how a long-time friendship can change because of one crazy circumstance that forces two friends to re-evaluate how they feel for each other in this new generation of Facebook, Twitter and viral videos.
