CPDRC Dancing Inmates dance to ‘Rock It!’

CEBU, Philippines - The CPDRC (Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center) Dancing Inmates pioneered the collective dance fever in the province of Cebu. When videos of the inmates hit Youtube, they became worldwide phenomenon. They started dancing as part of their daily exercise and rehabilitation. Who would’ve thought that they would become this big? Now people, locals and tourists alike, flock to CPDRC to see them perform live regularly.

Now the CPDRC inmates are back not only with a new dance video to wow the public, but as part of Xenical and Roche’s, in partnership with the Philippine Association for the Study of Overweight and Obesity (PASOO) health awareness campaign, “Rock the Fat Away.”

“Rock The Fat Away” addresses the serious problems of overweight and obesity, including safe and unsafe methods of weight loss. It reminds us that the key to achieving and maintaining a healthy weight isn’t about short-term dietary changes. It’s about a lifestyle that includes healthy eating, regular physical activity, and balancing the number of calories you consume with the number of calories your body uses. The Dancing Inmates are indeed the best role models as they truly dance their calories and excess fats away. And with such style, too!

See them groove to the official campaign track, “Rock It! (Rock The Fat Away),” which is produced by Creative Cross Border (CCB). “Rock It! (Rock the Fat Away)” is composed by Diwa de Leon, with the song lyrics penned by Mitzi Borromeo, rap lyrics and rap back up done by Rye Armamento of Music Colony and sung by Bituin Escalante while Dash Calzado does the rap part.
