Successful Kapuso Fans’ Day with Marian Rivera

CEBU, Philippines - Marian Rivera, lead actress in My Lady Boss, the latest romantic comedy flick from GMA Films in partnership with Regal Films, and the country’s sexiest woman according to a men’s magazine, took three cities of Visayas and Mindanao by storm during a series of Kapuso Fans’ Day held early this month.

First to experience the treat from the Kapuso Primetime Queen were her supporters from the so-called City of Love—Iloilo. A record-breaking number of almost 10,000 people showed up at the Robinson’s Place Iloilo last July 7 for a chance to see the actress up close and personal.

On her Instagram account, Marian thanked all those who attended her fans’ day. “Maraming salamat po sa inyo. Kayo ang totoong meaning ng happiness. Nakakataba ng puso ang mainit na pagtanggap ninyo sa akin.”

After Iloilo, Marian then made her way to what is known as the melting pot of Mindanao—Cagayan de Oro—for another round of meet and greet with her fans last July 12. The heavy downpour did not hinder an estimated number of 8,000 Kapusong Kagay-anons from going to SM City CDO that day—something which Marian will not easily forget.

Still quoting from her Instagram account, Marian has this to say to her Kagay-anon fans. “Sobrang lakas man ng ulan ngunit hindi ‘yun naging hadlang sa mainit na pagtanggap ninyo sa akin. Kaya naman sa mga Kapuso natin sa Cagayan de Oro, maraming salamat sa inyo. Hanggang sa muli nating pagkikita.”

And a day after invading CDO, Marian also went to the Queen City of the South—Cebu—for another gathering with her supporters. The fans’ day happened at the Gaisano Grand Fiesta Mall Tabunok in Talisay City and there, she was welcomed by more than 6,000 Kapusong Cebuanos.

Marian undeniably enjoyed her brief stay in Cebu and as a proof, a photo was posted on her Instagram account with a caption in Cebuano saying, “Hindi niyo lang alam kung paano ninyo ako napasaya mga Kapusong Cebuano. Mahal ko kayo at maraming salamat mula sa kaibuturan ng aking puso.”

The Kapuso Fans’ Day included activities such as the Marian Rivera look-alike search, a dance showdown showcasing Marian’s dance moves, an act-like-Marian Rivera challenge, and a search for the most unique memorabilia or fan collection of the actress.
