Richard Gutierrez, Marian Rivera’s kissing scene ‘unforgettable’ in “My Lady Boss”

Richard Gutierrez and Marian Rivera are reunited in the forthcoming romantic-comedy flick “My Lady Boss” from Regal Entertainment and GMA Films. This is the first flick of Chard and Marian since they did “My Bestfriend’s Girlfriend” five years ago.

At the movie’s presscon held early this week, Chard said “My Lady Boss” is the most daring project that he and Marian did together. “We had scenes here, intimate scenes, that we didn’t have in our first movie together,” Richard quips. “For first time, we had an honest-to-goodness kissing scene, unlike before which was just a smack,”

The Kapuso star considers his kissing scene with Marian as “unforgettable” and he added that even Marian consented to be more daring in doing their intimate moments. “I can’t say how many scenes we have but I believe we will have quite plenty,” joked Chard. “We have numerous kissing scenes depending on the situation that our characters have at the moment. But I’d like to add that this movie is unforgettable because Marian and I haven’t done a movie in five years.”

So how was it like kissing Marian? “Okay naman,” was Chard’s reply.

What does Marian has to say? “When you are already on the scene, once the camera rolls and the director says “action,” you are no longer Chard or Marian so it is hard to say what it was like. Mahirap sabihin kung ano ang pakiramdam sa kissing scene when you are supposed to be in character. Saka once you are there in the scene, you only think of it as a job. Part ng trabaho ko ang kissing scene so I have to do it. You have to be in character while doing it.”

Since this is their comeback team-up, even before they started the shoot, Marian and Chard talked and agreed that whatever happens, they are going to give their best for the movie as the lead actors. The success of the movie lies on their partnership and the chemistry that will be ignited on the big screen. “What is important is that we come up with a good movie that is worth the long wait,” added Marian.

As to the why the project took so long, Marian blames her and Chard’s numerous commitments. “Both of us have our respective individual projects so getting our schedules fixed takes some real effort really,” she said. “Saka mas maganda siguro na hindi pinipili kundi kusang dumarating ang project na ibinibigay talaga para sa amin. Mahirap magtrabaho sa isang project na parang pilit na pilit. Ito maganda, pinag-isipan ang kwento. May mga eksena na hindi namin nagawa before pero nagawa namin sa ngayon.”

Based on the trailer of their second starrer, “My Lady Boss,” Richard and Marian terribly missed working with each other after five long years.

Each touch, move, and smile in their romantic scenes together indicate their fondness for each other on and off screen – something that was hardly felt in their initial blockbuster outing as a tandem, “My Best Friend’s Girlfriend.”

Witness Marian and Richard’s unique brand of screen chemistry when “My Lady Boss” opens in local theaters on April 10 from the direction of Jade Castro, the same man behind the critically-acclaimed “Zombadings! Patayin sa Syokot si Remington.”
